#11. I am standing on the edge of the bright green grass against our porch. The cool breeze feels so good against my skin in the 90 degree weather. There are kids laughing and playing at the pool just down the pathway and beyond that over the hill I see the blue ocean waves crashing down against the sandy beach. The palm trees sway in the wind and dragonflies are dancing around. Having so many memories and pictures of my family condo in Florida the image comes quickly to mind. The place will always be as beautiful as I remember it.

#12. A photograph I remember most from my past is the picture of my family and I outside a nice restaurant in Florida that we always go to. We are all dressed up and I was at my awkward stage of when I was little. The placed itself hasn't changed much but the people in it have gotten older although we still have so much love for each other. The photograph brings back so many memories of Florida with my family in general and makes me miss all the times we had down there. If we retook this photo today, the people would look very different but we would still act the same. We are a close family and take photos of each other often.

#13. A lot of interaction I see with humans and nature lately is sad. Many people just throw and drop their garbage onto nature and do not think about it. I think it would be interesting to go to a garden and go around picking up all the garbage and making a piece of art in the garden to represent man's relationship with nature. Although it is the opposite of putting nature in a man-made landscape, I think it still reflects our interaction with nature.

#14. For a familiar place, I would photograph is with people I connect with that place and also get into the space and photograph things that to me are what I love of that place. For a faraway place, I would photograph it with strangers or have no one in the picture so that it seems unknown. I would also not get as close to things since it is new and faraway and that I am just getting used to the place as a whole. Places like the grand canyon that have very little touch by humans I would photograph with absolutely no humans just the space itself and the details of the nature.

#15. Of the places in my present and my past, the biggest difference would be my home in Buffalo and my home in EL or my high school versus MSU. I would take advantage of double exposure or take two photographs and place them on top of each other, one being less opaque. I would capture myself in them, trying to dress/act as I was in high school versus how I dress/act in college. The juxtaposition of my outfits and pose would tell the narrative as well as the places.

“I think photographs should be provocative and not tell you what you already know. It takes no great powers or magic to reproduce somebody's face in a photograph. The magic is in seeing people in new ways.” Duane Michals

I think this is an interesting quote. Anyone can take a photograph of Pablo Picasso and many have but those that have shown something new about him and represented him in a way that people did not know are the ones that become the most interesting and most successful.

“I believe in the imagination. What I cannot see is infinitely more important than what I can see.” Duane Michals

This quote somewhat goes a long with the first. For creativity, you have to reach beyond what you do know and take a chance for what you will discover. What is the future and what will be the success of your photographs is doing and finding something that others have not because if others have or have seen that, then it is nothing new. You always have to be trying new things and testing yourself.

“Photography, as we all know, is not real at all. It is an illusion of reality with which we create our own private world.” Arnold Newman

To the photographer, their image may be real to them. It is how they see the world, that person, or thing. It is was what they imagine and what they think but to someone else it could see like it is not reality but a dream or something someone made up. To them it is not their reality because they do not see/know as the creator knows.
